In the autumn of 2021, Tring Sports Centre was gearing up for the opening of a brand new sports hall and group exercise studio. Awaken Communications was invited to support the in house team with a range of marketing communications activities to drive interest in and usage optimisation of the new facilities.

We based our recommendations around a fresh new value propostion for the centre: to be a beacon for healthy, active lifestyles in the local community. Launch communications included a refreshed website, with improved user journeys and better quality images, a digital and printed comms campaign to drive registrations for an open weekend and a free taster class campaign to encourage potential new members to experience the facilities and to give the in house team the opportunity to convert them to members. Email marketing, Google Adwords, Facebook marketing and leaflet drops were all featured in the first months of our support activity.

Importantly the Awaken team also implemented campaign tracking processes to enable the TSC team to assess the impact of these activities in generating demand.

Results:

Within the first couple of months of engagement, Awaken Communications delivered a 130% increase year on year increase in web traffic, a full weekend of triallists, a complete overhaul of the website, a forward looking window of social media posts, significantly enhanced tracking and reporting, greater consistency in look and feel across all comms.

We continue to be retained by TSC and report in detail on a variety of agreed goals and actions for the website, including phone number clicks, emails and enquiry form downloads. We also report on revenue generated through all the key channels.
